	Cello EM The Cello EM is designed for use with industrial and commercial electricity meters with a serial interface, and is compatible with leading meter models. GSM offers many advantages over PSTN and X25, including lower operating costs and ease of installation. Smart features within the modem include automatic detach/reattach from/to the network and remote notification of mains outages. The Cello EM supports the following GSM communications modes: CSD (data call), SMS and GPRS. The data call mode is compatible with most leading interval meters and existing data collection systems. The SMS mode takes advantage of very low SMS tariffs and improved performance in poor coverage areas. When programmed in SMS mode, Cello EM regularly interrogates the meter and transmits data using SMS. Minimal host PC hardware is required to receive data from thousands of sites.
