The IWA World Water Congress and Exhibition is a high-profile biennial event that in previous years has been held in Vienna, Beijing, Marrakech, Melbourne, Berlin and Paris. In 2010, the Association is partnering with the Canadian Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) and the Canadian Association on Water Quality (CAWQ) to hold the event in Montréal.

	Technolog Wins Smart Metering Contract from National Grid Metering The Technolog group of companies is currently hard at work delivering its latest project win for National Grid Metering. In 2007, Technolog was successful in winning work with National Grid Metering for the provision of Automatic Meter Reading services for commercial and industrial gas meters. Technolog’s unique ability to offer a complete service including products, installation and data services, proved highly competitive against offerings from larger multi-national companies. National Grid Metering is offering their Smart metering service to energy suppliers who are in turn offering the service to their customers. Smart metering systems require reliable and well-proven products, an experienced installation and maintenance team and resilient data collection systems. Technolog has over 20 years' experience in supplying monitoring systems for the utilities. Our Cello GSM technology is well-proven and the Cello GSM Meter Reader for gas is compatible with most gas meters. The Cello captures pulses from the meter and provides accurate meter readings on demand. The Cello GSM Meter Reader is intrinsically safe and is suitable for use in hazardous environments. The built-in battery is designed for longevity so mains electricity is not required and Cello can be installed almost anywhere. Cello GSM Meter Readers are now being installed by our experienced team of qualified technicians in Utilitec Services team on thousands of commercial and industrial sites nationwide. The diversity of sites reflects the potential of the market for Smart metering. Cellos are now installed in and around universities, hotels, supermarkets, bakeries, factories, prisons and palaces. In fact, anywhere where energy consumption is monitored. Data collection services are managed by Technolog’s data centre, Utility Data Services, which has growing expertise in data collection, validation and transmission.
